At abeeco, caring for the planet has always been part of who we are. As a company grounded in natural health and skincare, environmental responsibility guides our choices, and we’re continuing to strengthen that commitment every day.
We are proud to introduce Julia Clavel, our Environmental Impact Advisor.
Julia is a Geography graduate with a passion for protecting and enhancing the natural environment. Originally from Germany, but having made New Zealand her home 20 years ago, she currently works with Restore Hibiscus & Bays as a Restoration Advisor (Schools and Community Training), helping connect schools, community groups, and local organisations to environmental restoration projects.
Her work is all about strengthening ecosystems, improving water quality, tackling pests, and restoring native habitats - practical, community-led action that makes a real, lasting difference.
Julia brings that same grounded, future-focused approach to abeeco.
As our Environmental Impact Advisor, Julia plays a key role in guiding us to:
- Further reducing packaging waste and improving recyclability
- Making more sustainable raw material choices
- Lowering our distribution footprint
- Strengthening supplier sustainability standards
- Improving our internal environmental practices
- Setting clear, measurable environmental goals for the future
This is about building on what we already believe in — and doing it better, smarter, and with greater accountability.
As a mother of two girls, Julia’s motivation is deeply personal.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys hiking, yoga, international cuisine, travelling, conservation events, beach clean-ups, and tree planting. Her love for nature is not just professional — it is part of who she is.

Julia’s appointment marks an important step in formalising and advancing our environmental efforts — ensuring we continue to care for both people and planet for generations to come.
